Our Advantages

Introduction to Schineit Spiral Centrifugal Pumps

Schineit Spiral Centrifugal Pumps combine the advantages of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, redefining the concept and form of high self-priming, high-flow pumps. Each Schineit³ pump features a large-clearance spiral impeller that gently pumps the medium into the pump chamber and transports it to the discharge pipe. The open impeller easily handles large solid particles and long fiber objects, while the spiral design is highly suitable for conveying substances with high solid content and highly viscous liquids. The result is a high-efficiency, low NPSH pump that simultaneously saves energy, reduces consumption, and lowers costs.
Additionally, Schineit* pumps excel in non-clogging performance when conveying long fiber suspended media, which reduces the cost of unblocking compared to traditional pumps. The ultra-fast gentle transition capability and low shear pumping function significantly reduce the damage to the pump body from abrasive liquids and the destruction of high molecular substances by equipment. Therefore, Schineit@ pumps are highly suitable for conveying slurries and sludge in processes such as kitchen waste treatment, agricultural waste treatment, bioenergy treatment, beer and food manufacturing, construction, mining, pulp and paper production, and pet food processing and wastewater treatment.
The design, development, and manufacturing of Schineit° spiral centrifugal pumps focus on high hydraulic efficiency and low operating costs to achieve a reduction in total usage costs. The specially designed impeller ensures high efficiency and low energy consumption when handling viscous liquids. The combination of ultra-short transition capability, reinforced impeller, and high-quality casing effectively reduces equipment wear. The extremely low NPSH value further minimizes maintenance costs due to cavitation damage.

The Working Principle of Schineit Spiral Centrifugal Pumps

Schineit" Spiral Centrifugal Pumps employ a spiral centrifugal impeller to propel the medium into a conical casing or passage. The centrifugal force generated by the impeller's rotation then imparts pressure energy to the medium, allowing it to be expelled outward.

The design of the open spiral centrifugal impeller features a low NPSH (as low as 1mWc), which can reduce equipment maintenance costs due to cavitation damage, enabling the spiral centrifugal pump to operate normally even under poor piping conditions or in situations that are particularly challenging for traditional centrifugal pumps.

Schineit*'s spiral centrifugal impeller channels have large blade clearances, capable of passing large solid particles. Media up to 80% of the discharge outlet diameter, such as fruits, vegetables, fish, etc., can enter the smooth impeller channels.

The combination of Schineit spiral centrifugal pump's conical suction port, wide blade clearance, and smooth channels ensures non-clogging during the transport of the medium from the impeller inlet to the outlet. This design also shortens the transition time of the medium within the pump, reducing wear caused by fine solid suspensions such as grit, silicon carbide, and other similar substances, allowing the pump to handle media with up to 30% solids content. Additionally, each Schineit@ spiral pump is equipped with an external spiral that allows for adjustment of the impeller-to-casing clearance to ensure high efficiency and low energy consumption. To accommodate various installation methods for Schineit® spiral centrifugal pumps, the impeller-to-casing clearance adjustment is available in three modes.

Schineit" impellers rarely come into contact with the objects being drawn in and have extremely low shear forces. Traditional centrifugal pumps have higher shear forces due to the contact between the medium and the impeller's cutting surface.

The low shear force of Schineit" impellers prevents material damage, making them highly suitable for conveying loose materials without causing breakage or for transporting crystalline fluids (such as activated carbon) while maintaining their original structure to the greatest extent.

Unique Spiral Centrifugal Impeller

Schineit Spiral Centrifugal Pumps integrate the advantages of traditional centrifugal pumps and screw pumps (or positive displacement pumps) into a unique structure composed of one or two large wrap-angle open twisted blades. This design excels in its ability to handle large particles, long fibers, highly viscous, and high-concentration liquids. When conveying slurries, these pumps operate smoothly with minimal damage to the slurry, offering excellent non-destructive performance.

The spiral section:
Generates a helical propulsion effect, with the leading edge of the impeller shaped like a sickle. The blades increase in radius along the hub, guiding the liquid flow and the conveyed objects towards the vicinity of the axis. The helical action then propels them along the axis to the centrifugal section, providing excellent suction capabilities and a lower level of cavitation.

The centrifugal section:
Converts the energy of the impeller into pressure energy within the volute casing. Due to the action of the centrifugal section, the liquid is expelled from the discharge port.

The length and area of the spiral centrifugal impeller are 3-5 times those of traditional single-channel impellers. This allows energy to be gradually transferred to the liquid along the entire length of the impeller, resulting in lower surface pressure. The low energy gradient and large curvature of the blades lead to a smaller acceleration from the initial velocity of 0 to the outlet velocity, which remains constant throughout the entire process, maintaining a smooth flow with low shear and low turbulence.

This unique design gently transports the liquid from the inlet to the outlet, saving energy and causing minimal damage to the impeller surface.
Heavy-Duty High-Performance Screw Centrifugal Pump with Abrasion Resistance for Brewing & Wine Processing

The illustration compares the energy transfer surfaces of a spiral impeller and a traditional impeller with the same power and rotational speed. It shows that the length of the spiral impeller is more than three times greater than that of the traditional impeller, and the unfolded area is also over three times larger. This results in a smaller energy transfer gradient and lower energy losses.

In contrast, the traditional centrifugal impeller requires the fluid to make a 90° turn from the pump inlet to the outlet, leading to a sudden change in energy transfer and significant local losses. This is particularly problematic when conveying activated sludge, as it can break apart the sludge. Additionally, the sharp turn can easily cause blockages from impurities in the medium.

The spiral centrifugal impeller, however, features a very open channel with a helical rotation, avoiding any abrupt turns. This allows the activated sludge to maintain its original form, and the impeller is less prone to clogging.

Advantages of Spiral Centrifugal Impeller Pumps

Large Passage Diameter, Non-Clogging and Non-Tangling
Schineit Spiral Centrifugal Pumps boast exceptional non-clogging capabilities. Their open, large-diameter passages are highly efficient and non-clogging, making it easier to transport bulky solids and long fiber materials.

These pumps integrate the advantages of traditional centrifugal pumps and screw pumps (or positive displacement pumps) into a unique structure composed of one or two large wrap-angle open twisted blades. This design excels in its ability to handle large particles, long fibers, highly viscous, and high-concentration liquids. When conveying slurries, these pumps operate smoothly with minimal damage to the slurry, offering excellent non-destructive performance.

The heart of the spiral centrifugal pump is its impeller, which features a unique twisted helical blade design, comprising both a helical section and a centrifugal section.

The helical section generates a helical propulsion effect, with the leading edge of the impeller shaped like a sickle. The blades increase in radius along the hub, guiding the liquid flow and the conveyed objects towards the vicinity of the axis. The helical action then propels them along the axis to the centrifugal section, providing excellent suction capabilities and a lower level of cavitation.

The centrifugal section converts the impeller's energy into pressure energy within the volute casing. Due to the action of the centrifugal section, the liquid is expelled from the discharge port.

II Gentle Conveying

"Gentle Conveying" is another advantage of Schineit spiral centrifugal pumps. The solid-liquid two-phase fluid gradually moves forward with no significant abrupt changes in flow direction, resulting in a smooth, non-turbulent flow. This gentle action causes minimal damage to the conveyed objects, making it suitable for transporting live fish, vegetables, fruits, slurries, and more. It is particularly well-suited for conveying activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants, as it helps maintain the sludge's activity without causing damage.

1. In the food industry, these pumps are used for transporting delicate objects such as potatoes and live fish, which are prone to damage.

2. When conveying activated sludge or loose particles, the pumps maintain their original physical state without tearing or breaking them apart. Experiments have shown that the damage to the zoogloea in return sludge is only 10% of that caused by other types of pumps.

3. For oil in emulsions, the pumps preserve the specific physical state of the oil droplets without negatively affecting their coalescence.

4. Suspended fibers are not twisted or entangled around the impeller.
